Los Annie Awards, galardones que premian el mejor cine de animación (Los Oscar de esta categoría) ya tienen sus nominados. Los Boxtolls lideran la clasificación con 13 nominaciones, seguido de Cómo entrenar a tu dragón 2 con 10 y en tercera posición con Big Hero 6 con 7 nominaciones.
La gala que se viene celebrando desde 1972 (a excepción de 2002 por cambios del formato) entregará sus premios el próximo 31 de enero en lo que será su 42 edición. Galardones que a largo de la historia se han premiado productos televisivos como Los Simpson o Padre de Familia y videojuegos como el alabado The last of us.
En la categoría de acción real destaca El Hobbit: La desolación de Smaug, que compite en mejores efectos animados con X men: días de futuro pasado, Transformers: La era de la extinción, The amazing Spider-Man 2, Noé y Al filo del mañana.
